Seattle SEO for Businesses That Work Through the Rain

By Hitesh Lamba · Updated

The short answer

Larkpin provides Seattle SEO for local businesses across King, Snohomish and Pierce counties. We set up your Google Business Profile, build pages for the services and towns that matter, and plan around the long wet season, so roofers, landscapers and HVAC companies show up when Puget Sound homeowners search. Results are reported as calls and booked jobs.

  • Rank for the services Seattle homeowners need every wet season
  • Separate pages for Seattle, the Eastside and the north and south ends
  • Booked jobs and reviews reported every month in plain English

What makes Seattle SEO different?

Seattle SEO follows the rain. From October through spring, gray skies and steady drizzle turn into moss on north-facing roofs, needles packed into gutters, and water finding its way into basements. Homeowners notice, search, and call. A Seattle business that ranks before the wet season gets the bulk of that work. One that starts in November is late.

The region is also split into distinct markets. Seattle proper, the Eastside, the north end around Everett, and the south end toward Tacoma all search differently and show different businesses in the map pack.

How the Puget Sound market breaks down

Most of the region's businesses sit in King County, but many of the trades work out of the counties on either side. Census data shows the split clearly.

County Business establishments (2023) Roofing contractors (2023) Landscaping services (2023) Population growth, 2020 to 2025 (est.)
King 70,376 206 843 3.3%
Snohomish 20,258 152 443 5.2%
Pierce 20,051 150 297 2.7%

Pierce and Snohomish together had more roofing contractors than King County. Many of the roofers working on Ballard bungalows and Bellevue split-levels drive in from Everett, Lynnwood, Puyallup or Tacoma. If that describes you, your service area and your pages need to reach into the neighborhoods where you want to work, not just the town where you park the trucks.

Rain, moss and wind: the Seattle demand calendar

Seattle demand runs on a predictable calendar, with a few surprises.

  • Fall: gutter cleaning, moss treatment, roof inspections and leak repair as the rains return.
  • Winter: windstorms bring down Douglas firs and power lines. The November 2024 bomb cyclone left large parts of the Eastside without power and sent tree crews, roofers and electricians into long days.
  • Spring: exterior cleaning, landscaping and drainage work once the ground dries out.
  • Summer: heat pump and AC installs. The June 2021 heat dome pushed temperatures past anything Seattle had recorded before, and many homeowners without air conditioning have been shopping for heat pumps since. Wildfire smoke weeks add air filtration requests.

When we checked keyword data for this page, a general search like "roof moss removal" carried far more volume than the same phrase with "Seattle" added. People type the service and trust Google to find someone nearby. Your profile and service pages have to make that connection for them.

What Seattle search results look like

The Seattle map pack is crowded in the city core and more open in the suburbs. Search "roofing" from Capitol Hill and the results lean on established companies with hundreds of reviews. Search from Kent, Shoreline or Mill Creek and you often find thin profiles with old photos. The Eastside is its own contest: customers in Bellevue, Redmond and Kirkland expect polished websites and quick replies.

Reviews carry a lot of weight in that decision. BrightLocal's 2026 Local Consumer Review Survey found that 97% of consumers read reviews for local businesses, and 41% always read them.

How Larkpin approaches Seattle SEO

Larkpin is a local SEO, web design and AI automation agency for US local businesses, founded by Hitesh Lamba, who has run SEO programs since 2013. For Puget Sound businesses we follow this sequence:

  1. Choose the areas you want: Seattle neighborhoods, Eastside cities, and the north or south end, ranked by job value and drive time.
  2. Rebuild your Google Business Profile with the right categories and every seasonal service listed, from moss treatment to heat pump installs.
  3. Write service pages that answer wet-climate questions, such as how often a roof needs moss treatment.
  4. Build area pages for Seattle, the Eastside and your home county, with real local jobs and photos.
  5. Clean up citations on Google, Apple, Bing, Yelp and Nextdoor.
  6. Time content and Google posts before each season turns.
  7. Report monthly: calls, leads, booked jobs and reviews.

Local organizations for Seattle citations

Strong local signals come from the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, BBB Great West + Pacific (which partners with the Seattle chamber on accreditation), city chambers such as the Bellevue Chamber, and trade groups in your field. Sponsoring a neighborhood event or a youth sports team in your service area adds a link that a national competitor cannot copy.

Industries we see winning with Seattle SEO

Seattle SEO pays off well for roofers and gutter companies working the wet season, HVAC companies selling heat pumps after hot summers, and landscapers handling drainage and spring cleanups. Seasonal reminders sent through SMS and email marketing automation bring past customers back for their yearly moss treatment, and AI appointment booking fills the schedule without phone tag.

How we work with Seattle businesses

Larkpin does not have an office in Seattle. We work with Seattle businesses remotely, and in person when a project needs it. Your website, your Google Business Profile and your data stay yours.

Check your Seattle visibility before the rain returns

Our Free Missed-Lead Audit shows where you rank across Seattle, the Eastside and your home county, records what happens when someone calls after hours, and compares your reviews to your top three competitors. It is a practical first step toward Seattle SEO that fills the wet-season schedule.

Questions owners ask us

When should Seattle roofers and gutter companies invest in SEO?

Start in spring or early summer. Moss treatment, gutter cleaning and roof repair searches build as the fall rains return, and SEO needs a few months to take hold. A Seattle roofer who starts in May has stronger pages, more reviews and a tuned Google profile by October, when homeowners start noticing drips and overflowing gutters.

Do customers search for moss removal with the city name?

Mostly not. When we checked keyword data for this page, a general search like roof moss removal drew far more demand than the same phrase with Seattle added. Homeowners type the service and let Google pick nearby businesses. That makes your Google Business Profile services, categories and service pages more important than stuffing city names into your site.

Should I treat the Eastside as a separate market from Seattle?

Yes. Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland and Sammamish customers search by their own city names, and Google treats them as distinct areas in the map pack. A business that serves both sides of Lake Washington should have dedicated pages for each, with real jobs and photos from each area, and should collect reviews from customers on both sides.

Which Seattle organizations help with local citations?

Start with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and BBB Great West + Pacific, which have partnered to support Washington businesses. Add your neighborhood or city chamber, such as the Bellevue Chamber, plus trade associations in your field. Make sure your business name, address and phone match exactly across every listing.

How does Larkpin report Seattle SEO results?

Each month you get a short, plain-English report showing calls and form leads from Google search and maps, how many became booked jobs, new reviews, and where you rank across the areas you serve. We use call tracking and form source tracking so we never take credit for leads we did not create.
